I keep hearing from other software developers how blogging is such an important element to growing your career. But I always put writing a blog off because I am still a new software developer with little professional experience and do not know how to get started. I keep thinking I would not have much to offer to others, but after discovering http://simpleprogrammer.com my view began to change slowly.
It has been about 6 months now since I have been developing software professionally. I decided to try blogging after finding out about a free email course on starting a blog by John Sonmez, the founder of simple programmer. For those interested, you can register for the course at http://devcareerboost.com/blog-course/.
The email course offers six lessons in total and cover topics from getting your blog up and running to building traffic to your blog. The homework along with some of the lessons also helps a lot by offering techniques to come up with topics to talk about on your blog. If you are someone, who gets put off by the idea of starting a blog because you do not know what to talk about then the email course might be your answer.
I hope this post have been helpful to some of you. Maybe even inspired some of you to give blogging a try. If you did start a blog, leave a comment to your blog. I would love to see it. Also, to keep in touch, you can follow me on twitter.
